You do not have to start a campaign from a blank page. At the top of the composer, Start from offers four ready-made templates, and a one-line brief that AI turns into a first draft. Either way you get a subject and a message to edit, never something that sends by itself.
Start from a template
- In the sidebar, under Marketing, open Newsletter, then Campaigns.
- Beside Start from, select a template: New arrivals, Sale, Back in stock or Thank you.
The template fills the Subject and the Message in your store's main language, with your store's name already in them. The preview on the right shows the result straight away.
Each template is a short, plain letter with a gap for you to fill:
| Template | Subject | What you fill in |
|---|---|---|
| New arrivals | New in at, then your store's name | The two bullet points Write the first item here and And the second: the new pieces. |
| Sale | Our sale starts today | The line Write here what is included and how long it runs, and the bold Ends Sunday. |
| Back in stock | It is back in stock | Write which one here: the product that is back. |
| Thank you | Thank you from, then your store's name | Write anything you would like to add here. |
Templates are always written in your store's main language, even if you use the console in another language. Layal Boutique's main language is English, so its templates arrive in English from the Arabic console too. The Preview line and your other languages are left as they were; write those yourself (see Write and send a newsletter campaign).
Warning
A template's placeholder lines go out exactly as written if you leave them. Before you send, replace every placeholder line in the table above, and change Ends Sunday. in the Sale template to your real end date.
Replacing the message you already wrote
If your message already has text when you select a template, the console asks first:
- Replace puts the template in place of your subject and message. What you had written is gone.
- Cancel keeps your text and does nothing else.
If you have written only a subject and no message, there is no question: the template replaces the subject straight away.
Draft with AI from a one-line brief
When you know what you want to say but not how to say it, describe the campaign in one line and let AI write the first draft.
- Select the brief field under the templates. It reads e.g. 20% off winter coats until Sunday.
- Type what the campaign is about, in a line. Include the facts it must carry: the products, the offer, the dates. For example: Cocoa jumper and camel abaya back in stock.
- Select Draft with AI, or press Enter.
The button reads Drafting… for a few seconds. Then the Subject and Message fill in, and the preview shows the email.
Draft with AI stays greyed out until you type a brief. What the AI works from, and what it does:
- Your brief, your store's name and the names of your main categories. Nothing else about your store is sent to it.
- It writes in your store's main language, whatever language you type the brief in.
- It does not invent offers. It is told never to add a discount, a date, a deadline, a product, a price or a delivery promise that is not in your brief. Put every fact you want in the brief.
- It can still add details of its own. It is told to use only what you describe, but it may add things such as sizes or where your store is. In the example above, the sizes, the lengths and the Abdoun studio are not in the brief. Remove anything that is not true.
- It keeps the email short and plain: a greeting, two or three short paragraphs and a closing line.
- It is told to add no links unless your brief contains a web address, and no unsubscribe line, because we add one to every campaign.
Warning
Draft with AI replaces the subject and message in your main language without asking. If you have already written something there that you want to keep, copy it somewhere first.
The Preview line and your other languages are left as they were.
AI drafting is on Starter and up, so every plan with campaigns (Growth and up) includes it. It does not use your AI credits. See How AI credits work. Drafting needs the Manage subscribers and campaign drafts permission.
Review and edit the draft
The draft is a starting point. Nothing is sent until you select Send now or schedule the campaign.
- Read the subject and the message in the preview on the right.
- Check every fact against your brief: names, sizes, prices, dates. Correct anything that is not true for your store.
- Edit the Subject and Message directly, as you would your own text.
- Add a Preview line if you want one.
- Write your other languages in their cards. AI drafts only your main language.
- Select Send test to me to see it in a real inbox.
Not happy with the wording? Change the brief and select Draft with AI again. The new draft replaces the old one. Then carry on as in Write and send a newsletter campaign.
When the AI draft could not be written
Sometimes no draft comes back. A red line appears under the brief: Could not write a draft just now. Your text is untouched — try again, or write it yourself.
As the line says, your subject and message are exactly as you left them. To carry on:
- Select Draft with AI again. The red line goes away while it tries.
- If it fails again, add a little more detail to the brief, or say it differently, and try once more.
- If you still get no draft, start from a template or write the campaign yourself. The rest of the composer works as normal.
If drafting keeps failing over several hours, open a support ticket.
Next, choose who receives the campaign, and when, or send it now.
