How AI credits work

Each AI tool has its own monthly allowance, counted its own way and handed back when a tool fails. See what is left, when it resets, and how to get more.

Each AI tool in NoqtaShop has its own monthly allowance of credits, and each counts a credit its own way. This article explains what one credit buys in each tool, how many your plan gives you, where to see what is left, and what to do when you run out.

What one credit buys

Credits are not shared between tools. A photo enhancement spends from the photo allowance, a translation from the translation allowance, and so on.

ToolOne credit is
AI photo enhancementOne product photo enhanced. Generating a hero or About image in the Storefront Studio also uses one credit from this allowance.
AI storefront generationOne storefront design generated in the Studio.
AI variant suggestionsOne set of suggested sizes, colours or other options for a product.
AI category iconsOne icon for one category. Suggesting icons for every category uses one credit per category in your tree.
AI translationOne field translated into one language.

Every tool counts its credits when you start it, so a request your allowance cannot cover is refused before anything runs. If the tool then fails, or brings nothing back, the credits come back to you: a failed photo, a storefront design that did not finish, an icon that did not come back or a language a translation missed costs nothing.

AI translation counts every field and every language. For example, translating the name and description of Layal’s Terracotta linen shirt dress from English into Arabic uses 2 credits. Into Arabic and French, it uses 4. Only the fields you ask to translate are counted, and a field with no text in it is not sent.

Translation credits are spent wherever the console translates for you: products and their variant options, categories, collections, Journal posts, your storefront text in the Studio, your policy pages and your FAQ. Only what is missing is counted: a field already translated into a language is skipped, and so is a language your store does not sell in.

How each tool works is explained in its own article: Enhance product photos with AI, Generate your storefront with AI, Generate hero and About images with AI, Sell a product in sizes and colours, Organise products into categories and Translate a product to your other languages.

  • Free includes no AI tools. They show a padlock, and the Subscription page lists them under Not in your plan:.
  • Starter includes AI translation only, and AI writing (see the last section).
  • Enterprise has no ceiling on any tool. Usage is still counted, so you can see it.

When you select a tool your plan does not include, the console names the plan that has it and its monthly price, with a See plans link to your Subscription page. Moving up a plan is the way to unlock it. See Why does a feature show a padlock? and Plans and what each includes.

Note

During a free trial, each allowance is a share of the monthly one, in proportion to the trial’s length: 14 days out of 30. A Growth trial gets 46 photo enhancements instead of 100, for example, and the Subscription page shows those trial figures. See How the free trial works.

See what is left

On the Subscription page

In the side menu, open Subscription. The Usage card has one meter for each AI tool your plan includes:

  • Used of limit, for example 11,350 of 12,000.
  • A bar that fills as you use the allowance.
  • What is left, for example 650 left.
  • At the top right, AI credits reset on and the date the allowances start again.

On Enterprise, each meter reads Unlimited, with no bar:

Enterprise: no ceiling, and the reset date at the top right.

During a free trial, the top right reads Trial allowance · until the trial’s last day, and each meter shows your trial’s share of the allowance, so left is what you can really still use.

The rest of the card, products, staff accounts and storage, is explained in See your plan, usage and billing.

Inside the photo tool

On the product form, the AI photo enhancement window shows the same allowance at the bottom, under AI credits remaining, with a reminder that One credit is used when enhancement starts. When you select several photos and choose Enhance with AI, the window for the batch shows it too. Enhance selected images then uses one credit for each photo, as it starts.

The credits left this month, just above the button that spends one.

On Enterprise, the window says Unlimited instead of a count. The other AI tools do not show a counter: check the Usage card on the Subscription page.

When credits reset

Allowances start again on the first day of every month, at midnight UTC (3:00 in the morning in Jordan). The date is always shown beside AI credits reset on.

  • Unused credits do not carry over. Each month starts from your plan’s full allowance.
  • When you change plan, the new plan’s allowance applies straight away, and what you have used this month still counts. A Growth store that has used 94 photo enhancements and moves up to Business has 406 left this month.
  • During a free trial, the trial’s credits all count in the month it started. A trial that runs into a new month does not get a fresh allowance on the 1st.

Running low and running out

The meters on the Subscription page warn you before an allowance runs out. When you have used 80% of one, what is left turns amber. When it is used up, the bar turns orange and 0 left turns red.

Amber means 80% used; red means none left until the reset.

When an allowance is used up — and no credits from our team are left for that tool — the tool refuses the next request that needs it and says so. Nothing else stops: the rest of your store works as before.

ToolWhat you see
AI photo enhancementIn the photo window, 0 of 100 monthly credits left, You have used all your AI photo enhancement credits for this month., and a grey Create AI version button. The Studio’s hero and About pictures, which use the same allowance, say You have used all your AI image credits for this month.
AI storefront generationYou have used all AI storefront generation credits for this month.
AI variant suggestionsYou have used all AI variant suggestion credits for this month.
AI category iconsSuggest icons with AI, on the categories page, says You have used all AI category icon credits for this month.
AI translationYou have used all AI translation credits for this month.
No photo credits left: the button stays grey until the reset.

A job that needs more credits than you have left is refused whole, and uses none. For example, with 18 category icon credits left, suggesting icons for a tree of 25 categories is refused. With 2 translation credits left, translating a product’s name, description and short description into Arabic, which needs 3, is refused. Do less at a time, one icon or fewer fields, and it fits again.

When you run out, you can:

  1. Wait for the reset on the 1st of the month.
  2. Move up a plan. The larger allowance applies straight away. See Upgrade or change your plan.
  3. Talk to us, as explained below.

Tip

Run large translation jobs early in the month, so you have the rest of it to finish them. A field already translated into a language is skipped, so it is not counted again.

Extra credits: talk to us

AI credits are not sold: there is no button to buy more. If your plan’s allowance is not enough, talk to us — open a support ticket and tell us which tool you use and how much more you need. We look at it with you.

Credits our team adds show on the Subscription page beside the tool’s meter, as +… from our team.

Credits from our team sit on the meter they top up. Storefront generation is used up for the month, but 25 credits from our team are still there to spend.
  • They are spent only once the month’s allowance is used up.
  • They do not reset on the 1st: what is left carries on into the next month.
  • They are added only for a tool your plan includes.

A higher plan also gives every tool a larger allowance, every month. Compare them in the table above, or in Plans and what each includes.

AI writing is not counted in credits

AI writing drafts text for you: a policy page, answers for your FAQ, or a newsletter campaign. It is on Starter and up (campaigns themselves start on Growth), and it uses no credits at all, however often you use it. See Draft a policy page with AI, Draft and translate your FAQ with AI and Start a campaign from a template or with AI.
