Forgotten the password you sign in to the console with? Ask for a reset link, open it from your email and choose a new password. It works the same for store owners and staff.
Ask for a reset link
- On the sign-in page, under the password box, select Forgot password?.
- The Forgot password? page opens. If you had already typed your email on the sign-in page, it is in Email address for you. If not, type the email address you sign in with. If you had named a store with Sign in to a specific store, the reset is for your account on that store only.
- Select Send reset link.
While we look up the account and queue the email, a card shows Sending reset link… with two steps, Look up account and Send email.
If you select Send reset link with the box empty, or with something that is not a full email address, the page says Complete all required fields. Type the whole address, such as owner@layal.example, and try again.
To leave without asking for a link, select Back to sign in.
The same answer for every email
When the request goes through, the form is replaced by a green message: If there is an account for that email, a reset link is on its way.
You see this message for every address you type, whether or not it belongs to an account. That way nobody can use this page to find out which email addresses have a NoqtaShop account.
Note
The flip side: a mistyped address gets the same friendly message, and no email ever comes. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, check the address first. See If the email does not arrive.
If the link could not be sent
Could not send the reset link. Try again.
Your request did not reach us or was turned away before we could look it up. It happens when your connection drops, when our server has a problem, or when more than ten requests that send an email, such as this one, came from your network in the last minute. Wait a minute, check you are online, and select Send reset link again.
Open the link in your email
The email comes from NoqtaShop, from support@noqtashop.com, with the subject Reset your password. It is written in the language the console was showing when you asked.
If your email address is on more than one store and you did not name a store, you get one email for each store. Each one has the store’s name in its subject, for example Reset your password · Layal Boutique, and opens with This link resets your password for Layal Boutique. Your email address is used on more than one store, so each store gets its own email.
- Open the email and select Reset Password.
- The Reset password page opens in your browser, in the same language as the email.
The link works for 1 hour, and only once. If you ask for another link, the newest one replaces the older ones, and only the newest works. Always use the link in the most recent email.
Your email is on more than one store? Each link resets your password on one store only: the store named in its email. Open the email of the store you want. The page the link opens always works on that store, even in a browser that is still signed in to another one. Your passwords on your other stores do not change.
New store owner who has never had a password? The link in your welcome email is a different page. See Create your password from the email.
Choose a strong new password
| Box | Required | What to type |
|---|---|---|
| New password | Yes | 8 to 100 characters, with at least one capital letter (A–Z), one small letter (a–z), one number and one symbol, such as ! @ # or -. Arabic letters are allowed but count as none of these. |
| Confirm password | Yes | The same password again, exactly. |
- In New password, type your new password.
- Read the strength meter that appears under the box, and change the password until it says Strong, or at least Medium.
- In Confirm password, type the same password again.
- Select Reset password.
As you type, the meter fills from one to four bars and names the strength. Under it, one tip says what would help most.
| What the meter says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Too short (one bar) | Fewer than 8 characters. |
| Weak (two red bars) | Easy to guess: too short for its mix of characters, a common word, repeated or sequential characters, or part of your email address. |
| Medium (three bars) | Better. A few more characters make the biggest difference. |
| Strong (four green bars) | Hard to guess. |
The tips you may see:
- Use at least 8 characters.
- Mix in a capital letter, a number or a symbol.
- Avoid repeated or sequential characters.
- Avoid common words and patterns.
- Avoid the account name or email address.
- Length helps more than anything else — try a few more characters.
The meter is advice; it does not decide whether the password is accepted. The rules in the table above do. A password the meter calls Strong can still be refused if it has no symbol, for example.
Tip
Four or five unrelated words joined by a symbol, with a number and a capital letter somewhere, make a password that is strong and easy to remember. Keep your name, your store’s name and your email out of it. A password manager is even better: let it create and remember the password for you.
If either box is empty, or the new password is shorter than 8 characters, the page says Complete all required fields. Fill in both boxes with at least 8 characters.
While the password is saved, a card shows Resetting password… with two steps, Validate link and Update password.
When it is done, the page says Password updated. You can now sign in.
Select Back to sign in and sign in with your new password. Resetting also:
- signs your account out on every device that was still signed in, the next time each one loads or saves anything, so anyone using your old password is shut out;
- confirms your email address, if it had not been confirmed yet;
- lifts what keeps your store closed, if you are a new store owner who had not yet used the link in your welcome email: you can then publish it, and customers see it once you do. Asking for a reset link replaced that one, so only the newest email works.
Resetting does not lift a sign-in pause after too many wrong passwords. If the sign-in page says sign-in is paused, wait until the time it shows. See Locked for a while after too many attempts.
When the two passwords do not match
Passwords do not match.
What you typed in Confirm password is not exactly what is in New password. Nothing has been saved. Clear both boxes, type the new password into each again, carefully, and select Reset password.
When the link has expired
Could not reset password. The link may have expired.
The page cannot use this link, and your password has not changed. The usual reasons:
- the link is more than 1 hour old;
- the link has already been used;
- you asked for another link after this one, which replaced it.
The page shows the same message when the new password breaks one of the rules in Choose a strong new password, for example when it has no capital letter, or no symbol (an Arabic letter does not count as one). So first check the password: if it is missing something, add it, type it in both boxes again and select Reset password.
If the password meets every rule, ask for a new link:
- Select Back to sign in at the bottom of the dark panel, which sits beside the form, or above it on a narrow screen. On a phone the link is not shown: open
https://admin.noqtashop.cominstead. - Select Forgot password?, and send a new link to the same address.
- Open the newest email straight away, and choose your password within the hour.
If your email is on more than one store, check that you opened the newest email for the store you want: each store's link works only for that store. If a fresh link fails as well, contact us (opens in a new tab) and tell us your store’s subdomain.
If the email does not arrive
Reset emails usually arrive within a minute or two. If yours has not:
- Check your spam, junk and promotions folders. Search your mailbox for Reset your password or for support@noqtashop.com.
- Check the address. It has to be the exact email you sign in with. Staff sign in with the email the store owner added them with, which may not be your everyday address.
- Ask again. Request a new link from Forgot password?. Only the newest link works, so use the latest email.
- Look in the right mailbox. If you signed up with Google, the email goes to that Gmail or Google Workspace address. You can also sign in with Continue with Google instead; see Sign in to the console.
Still nothing after a second request? If you are a staff member, ask the store owner which email address your account uses. If you are the store owner, contact us (opens in a new tab) and tell us the address you sign in with and your store’s subdomain.
