Set up your footer and WhatsApp button

Turn the payment methods row and a WhatsApp button on or off, set the WhatsApp number (blank uses your store phone), and what else the footer shows.

Last updated

The footer runs along the bottom of every page of your storefront. In the Storefront Studio you choose whether it shows how customers can pay you, and whether a WhatsApp button floats in the corner of every page. The rest of the footer fills itself from your store’s details, categories and pages.

Payment methods: on or off

  1. In the sidebar, under Storefront, open Design.
  2. Scroll down to the last group, Footer, and open it.
  3. Tick Payment methods to show a row of payment methods at the bottom of the footer, or untick it to hide the row.
The Footer group: two tick boxes and the WhatsApp number. Layal Boutique takes cash on delivery only, so that is the one mark in its footer.

The row shows only the ways your store really takes payment:

If your store takes neither, the footer shows no payment row, even with Payment methods ticked. This box is ticked on a new store.

The WhatsApp button

  1. In the Footer group, tick WhatsApp button to show the button, or untick it to hide it.

Customers see a round green WhatsApp button in the bottom corner of every page: bottom right on an English page, bottom left on an Arabic one. Tapping it opens a WhatsApp chat with your number. On a product page, the button moves up out of the way of the add-to-cart controls.

The same tick box also adds a Message us on WhatsApp link to your storefront’s Contact page.

The button appears only when there is a number to open a chat with: your WhatsApp number, or your store’s contact phone if you leave that blank. With neither, the button and the Contact page link stay hidden, even with WhatsApp button ticked. This box is ticked on a new store.

Your WhatsApp number, or your store contact phone

The WhatsApp number field shows only while WhatsApp button is ticked. It is a phone field: the country and its dialling code sit in front of the number.

  1. Under WhatsApp number, check the country in front of the field. A Jordanian number uses +962, which the field starts on. For another country, select the code and search the list by the country’s name or its dialling code.
  2. Type the number as you would dial it at home, for example 079 000 0000, or paste it whole, with +962 or 00962 in front.

The number is saved in the international form WhatsApp needs: 079 000 0000 is saved as +962 79 000 0000, the 0 at the start dropped, and a pasted number never gets its dialling code twice. When you paste a number with another country’s code, the country in front of the field changes to match it.

If the field isThe button opens a chat with
Filled inThis number.
Left blankYour store’s Contact phone, set in Settings (opens in a new tab) on the Store tab — see Update your store’s details.

The hint under the field says the same: Leave blank to use your store contact phone. Must be a number with WhatsApp. A contact phone saved before these rules, with its 0 still in it or with no country code at all, also opens the right chat: a number with no country code is read as Jordanian.

Warning

Use a number that has a WhatsApp account. A store’s listed phone is often a landline, and a chat opened with a number that has no WhatsApp goes nowhere — your customer’s message never reaches you, and nothing tells you so. Open your storefront after publishing and tap the button once to check it opens a chat with you.

These tick boxes and your number are part of your draft until you publish; see Save a draft and publish your storefront.

Everything else in the footer comes from your store, not from the Studio’s settings:

Part of the footerWhat it shows
Your logo and nameYour logo, your store name or both, following Logo display in the Header group. A store with no logo shows its name.
The line under your nameYour hero Subheading, from the Content tab. Leave it blank and the line is empty.
ShopAll products, then up to five of your top-level categories.
HelpShipping and Returns when those pages are published, then Contact and FAQ, and Journal on plans that include the journal (Starter and up).
CompanyTerms & conditions and Privacy when those pages are published, Cookies always, and Our story once your story page is published.
The bottom rowThe NoqtaShop badge on Free and Starter, your payment methods, and © with your store name and the year.

Your policy pages and your story appear in the footer only once they are published. You write them all under Storefront › Policy pages, the story on its Our story tab — see Write and publish your policy pages. The story page is also where the About section’s button leads: Write your storefront text.

The badge reads Powered by NoqtaShop and links to noqtashop.com. On Free and Starter it is always there, and there is no setting to hide it. Growth and every plan above it remove it automatically, so your footer carries only your own brand — see Plans and what each includes.

Next, set what customers read across your homepage in Write your storefront text, or check your contact details in Update your store’s details.
