How the free trial works

Which plans have a 14-day free trial, one per person and per card; why we ask for a card, when the first charge happens, and how to cancel without paying.

Last updated

Starter and Growth begin with a 14-day free trial. This article explains who gets one, why we ask for a card, when the first charge is taken, how to change plan during the trial, and how to stop before you are charged.

Which plans have a trial

PlanTrialWhat happens when you start it
FreeNone neededNo card and no charge, ever. Free has no time limit.
Starter14 daysYour card is saved and nothing is charged until the trial ends.
Growth14 daysYour card is saved and nothing is charged until the trial ends.
BusinessNoneYou are charged on the day you start it.
EnterpriseNoneArranged with our team. See Upgrade or change your plan.

You can start a trial in two places: when you sign up on noqtashop.com, or later from the console, with Start 14-day free trial on the Starter or Growth card of your Subscription page, while your store has no paid plan (on Free, for example).

Note

There is one free trial per person and per card. A trial is offered only if your store, the email address on it and the card you pay with have not had a NoqtaShop trial before, and never to a store that already pays for a plan. Where you cannot have one, the plan’s card says Upgrade or Choose plan instead of offering the trial, and you are charged on the day, like Business.

During the trial you have the whole plan: every feature it includes is on. The AI tools are the one difference. A trial gets a share of each monthly AI allowance in proportion to its length, 14 days out of 30. On a Growth trial, that is 46 AI photo enhancements, 9 AI storefront generations, 46 AI variant suggestions, 23 AI category icons and 5,600 AI translation credits. On a Starter trial, it is 1,400 AI translation credits. See How AI credits work.

A card to start, nothing charged until it ends

On noqtashop.com, the first step of sign-up shows your plan. On Starter and Growth, the Trial line says what happens: 14 days on your first free trial. You need a card to start; we charge nothing until the trial ends. The summary beside it shows Today at $0 — On your first free trial. Stripe shows the exact amount before you pay. — and Then the price you pay once the trial is over.

Starter with its trial: $0 today on your first trial, and the monthly price after 14 days.

We ask for a card for two reasons. Your store carries on without a break when the trial ends, because the plan is already set up. And it lets us keep to one trial per person and per card.

The card goes to Stripe’s secure payment page, never to NoqtaShop. Above Stripe’s pay button, a line says exactly what happens to it, with the dates and the amount: Your card is saved today and nothing is charged for 14 days. Cancel before … under Subscription in your console and you pay nothing; otherwise we charge … from … and Growth renews monthly until you cancel. On annual billing it says yearly instead.

When the trial ends

On the last day of the trial, Stripe charges your card the plan’s price: the monthly price on monthly billing, or the yearly price on annual billing. From then on, the plan renews on that date every month or every year until you cancel. On your Subscription page, Free trial becomes Active, and the line under it becomes Renews on and the date.

If that first charge does not go through, for example because the card has expired, your store stays fully open for 7 days while Stripe tries again and you update the card. If it is still unpaid then, your store moves to Free. See A payment failed.

Your trial on the Subscription page

In the side menu, open Subscription. While the trial runs, the first card shows it:

A Growth trial: free until its last day, then the price you will pay, with the trial’s own AI allowance.
On the pageWhat it means
Free trialThe badge beside the plan’s name. Your free trial is running.
Free until a date, then a priceThe last day of the trial, and what is charged then, every month or year.
Trial allowance · until a dateAt the top of the Usage card. Each AI meter shows your trial’s share of the allowance, not the full month’s.
Cancel trial — you will not be chargedAt the bottom of the page. See Cancel before it ends.

Every other part of the page is explained in See your plan, usage and billing.

Change plan during the trial

You can change plan without losing your trial:

  • Move up to Growth from a Starter trial: Growth has a trial of its own, so your trial carries on to the same day, on Growth, and nothing is charged today.
  • Move up to Business: Business has no free trial, so your trial ends at once and the first month is charged today. The window says so before you confirm, and your plan then renews a month from today.
  • Move down from a Growth trial to Starter: the card says Switch on the trial’s last day. Your trial carries on to its end on Growth, and Starter is what is charged then.
  • Change the billing cycle, monthly to annual or annual to monthly: the trial carries on, and the new cycle’s price is what is charged when it ends. The window says, for example, Your free trial continues until Oct 24, 2026; nothing is charged today. Then Growth is $336.00 annually.
Moving up to a plan with its own trial: the trial carries on, and nothing is charged today.
Moving up to a plan with no trial ends the trial today. The window says so before anything changes.

How each change works is in Upgrade or change your plan.

The email before it ends

Three days before your trial ends, we tell you twice:

  • An email to your billing email, with the subject Your free trial ends on and the date, written year-month-day (for example 2026-10-15). It names your plan, the date, and the amount we will charge, and says that if you cancel before that date under Subscription in your console you will not be charged anything.
  • A notification in the console’s bell: Your free trial ends in 3 days — we then charge … for …, with the amount and your plan. See Keep up with notifications.

You do not need to do anything if you want to keep the plan. If you have already cancelled the trial, the email and the bell say instead that nothing will be charged and that your store moves to Free.

Cancel before it ends

  1. In the side menu, open Subscription.
  2. At the bottom of the page, select Cancel trial — you will not be charged.
  3. The window, Cancel your free trial?, says Your free trial ends on …. You will not be charged, and your store moves to Free. Under On … we switch off: it lists what Free does not include. If you like, tell us why under Why are you cancelling? (optional).
  4. Select Cancel trial, or Go back to keep the trial as it is.
Cancelling a trial: nothing is charged, and you see what Free switches off on its last day.

Nothing is charged, then or later. Your trial carries on until its last day with every feature of the plan, and then your store moves to Free: it stays open, takes cash-on-delivery orders in one language, and costs nothing. Nothing is deleted. See Cancel your subscription.

Until then, the plan card shows Cancelling and Ends on the trial’s last day · then Free, and a notice at the top of the page offers Keep my subscription. Changed your mind before the last day? Select it: the card shows Free trial again, and the plan carries on after the trial as before.

When a trial does not start

A trial is one per store, per email address and per card. If you start one with a card that has had a NoqtaShop trial before — or the store or the email has — we cancel it before anything is charged, and tell you by email and in the bell: Your free trial of … did not start.

You can still pay for the plan from the Subscription page: it is then charged on the day.

Plans charged on the day you sign up

Business has no trial. When you choose it, you pay the first month (or year) straight away. The same is true of Starter and Growth when you have had a trial before.

Business: no trial line, and the full price under Today.

There is no Trial line on the plan, and Today shows the full price. On Stripe’s page, the line above the pay button says: You are charged … today, and Business renews monthly until you cancel under Subscription in your console. On annual billing it says yearly, and the charge is one payment for the whole year.
